Value description

A cosmopolitan city is characterized by diversity and openness to people from different countries, ethnic groups and cultures. Its basic traits are respect for difference, ability to accept new ideas and faith in dialogue. Thanks to its tolerance, it attracts foreigners who want to participate in the development of the city and, thanks to a thoughtful strategy, encourages their successful integration into the local community.

Contribution to the city

The iron law of health for any ecosystem is its diversity. The diversity of Brno will bring with it a greater ability to combine the old and new in an innovative way and respond to new challenges. The more open the city is to new people and new ideas, the greater is its creative dynamism. As in the historical past, the success of Brno's businesses, academic institutions, public and private services, as well as lively and varied culture are significantly enhanced by talents coming from all over the world.

Value description
Contribution to the city

goal
All that is jsut great. But the biggest, and perhaps the fastest effect will be to get the institutions to speak some English. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s jsut redicilous to go to foreings police office and there noone, NO ONE, to speak any other language, but Czech! Not to mention about other institutions like tax offices, etc. You want to attract more foreigners - create conditions for them 🙂 As a second step - open a free Czech language courses for foreigners. That will help a lot for integration and socializing
Garant reaction
Thanks for your comments. We are definitely aware that there is a great need for the various institutions to be accessible in languages other than Czech, that this is in fact a key issue. The upcoming stages in the creation of Strategie Brno 2050 will focus on specific tasks. One of them should be the creation of a complex strategy for welcoming and integrating foreigners, and the need for institutions to communicate with foreigers in English and other foreign languages will undoubtedly form an important element in such a strategy.

goal
I am significantly supporting the goal related to the educational system for foreigners. Especially for families with small children up to high school. One of the most common criteria of expats rejecting relocating to Brno in my experience is the lack of affordable schooling for children in English or other languages.
indicator
I have no idea what the indicator \\\"4%\\\" represent, but if it is the number of public and private schools offering education in foreign languages i think it is significantly over appreciated.
Garant reaction
Thank you for your concern and your comments. This lack of opportunities for schooling in English is something we are only too well aware of, and it will certainly one of the key issues to be dealt with in the creation of a complex strategy for welcoming and integrating foreigners that should follow in the next stages of the Strategie Brno 2050 project. The 4 % here represents the percentage of state schools at the primary and secondary levels in Brno where there are either assistants trained in helping foreigners\\\' kids to integrate into Czech-language schools (which is of concern for many parents, especially those who wish to start a new life here) or where there is a significant amount of teaching in a \\\"world language\\\". In each case there are at present only two such schools - a ridiculously small number.

Contribution to the city

goal
Zaměstnaní cizinci by měli být integrovatelní, tzn. měli by se učit česky a respektovat kulturu, tradice a historii naší země. Dávat přednost Čechům před cizinci.
Garant reaction
Děkujeme za Váš komentář. Úspěšná integrace cizinců je základním předpokladem úspěšné budoucnosti Brna. Tento problém budeme řešit v další fázi projektu Strategie Brno 2050 přípravou komplexní strategie služeb a mechanismů ve veřejném a soukromém sektoru, které by zjistily hladký průběh přijímání i integrace cizinců.

> The iron law of health for any ecosystem is its diversity. This is a complete lie. You don\\\'t have to be a scientist to understand this. Just look at how \"diversity\" has destroyed London. British people are now a minority in their capital city. They are surrounded by people who hate them. The strength and beauty of Brno is the Czech People. If you displace the Czechs with \"diversity\", then everyone will just be a foreigner with no roots, and Brno will be dead.
Garant reaction
Thank you for your comments. To deal fully with them would require a very long, complex discussion, in person and not on-line. However, to stick to facts (as opposed to opinions). First, according to the 2011 UK census, approximately 63% of London\'s population was British-born; this is not a \"minority\". And second, if the anticipated percentage of foreigners in Brno in 2050 is 20%, this means that 80% will be Czechs. This can hardly be termed a \"displacement\". And even that figure of 20% foreigners would certainly include a significant number of Slovaks, who manz people would consider at least \"semi-Czechs\". 🙂

Takto má vypadat tolerance, multikulturní a multietnické soužití?
